We are at an important moment in the history of our community. As a co-operative school committed to diversity of all kinds, including racial, religious and socioeconomic diversity, we are challenging an economic system that puts money before people. We are proud that we can provide a contradiction to that system: an environment of connection and equality, where people's humanity comes before "business as usual." The recent economic turmoil throughout the country and our city have significantly increased demand for financial aid, especially emergency aid when families unexpectedly lose jobs or face medical catastrophes during the school year. This has taken a toll on our reserves. We need your help so that we can be here for another 50 years of children.

While our parents and staff work to forge a sustainable model to handle challenges in the future, you can help right now by supporting our fundraising efforts. Donations of any amount are fantastic!

Please support our 2021/2022 fundraising effort!

Project Learn School is funded almost entirely through tuition from families. Donations from you can help us to make this unique educational experience available for more families and augment the educational experience for all students, improve and modernize the existing school building, and add to the outdoor play area.

We are happy to discuss how to best use your donation to support the mission of Project Learn School and its community-based cooperative philosophy. Schools like ours, which offer a quality progressive education for a reasonable cost, are few and far between but offer an important option in these days of overcrowded, underfunded urban schools. We ask that you consider a generous donation to support Project Learn School. Each and every donation is appreciated.

Annual Appeals

Project Learn School solicits donations twice a year through its informative Alumni and Friends Newsletter. The newsletter, published in May and November, provides prospective donors with descriptions of recent activities and achievements. It is an excellent way to stay connected to what is happening at PLS. To be added to the distribution list, please send an email with your mailing address to alumni@shuturis.com or call (215) 438-3623.

Grants

Project Learn School is always interested in finding grants that will provide additional support to the school. Recently we received a grant from the First United Methodist Church of Germantown to support our Saturday Art program, a series of free drop-in art classes. We are also recipients of IKEA materials worth $10,000 that were used to renovate the kitchen and $1,000 from Reebok for active play in schools. If you are aware of any grant opportunities, please email development@shuturis.com or call (215) 438-3623.
